With poor resources for raw materials, Israel has had to import such products as fuel, metals, meat and sugar, and to find a source of economic strength by exporting those products it can develop in good quality and abundance. They exports include agricultural products such as citrus fruits, fresh vegetables and flowers, chemicals, minerals and metals, diamonds, textiles and clothing. The majority of Israel's exports are taken by Western Europe and the United States, while Eastern Europe and the African countries have been slowly increasing their participation in Israel's foreign trade.
